Degree Descriptions:

Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT)

The AAOT degree is designed for students planning to complete an associate’s degree before transferring into a bachelor’s degree program at one of the Oregon’s public university-system (OUS) schools. OUS schools include University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, Western Oregon University, Southern Oregon University, Portland State University and Oregon Institute of Technology. The AAOT offers students the flexibility to choose courses that interest them while meeting university lower division general education requirements. Students transferring to an OUS school with an AAOT will have junior status for registration purposes.

Associate of Science (AS)

The Associate of Science is a state approved associate degree that is intended to prepare students to transfer into an upper division baccalaureate degree program in such areas as Business, Science, Mathematics and Engineering at one of the Oregon’s public university-system schools. Completion of this degree does not guarantee students transferring to an OUS school junior status for registration purposes.

Associate of Science (in Business) Oregon Transfer (ASOTB)

The ASOT degrees are designed for students planning to complete an associate degree before transferring into a bachelor's degree program at one of the Oregon's public university-system (OUS) schools. OUS schools include University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, Western Oregon University, Southern Oregon University, Portland State University and Oregon Institute of Technology. transferring to an OUS school with an ASOT will have junior standing for the Business major and for university registration purposes.

Associate of Science (in Computer Science) Oregon Transfer (ASOTCS)

The ASOT degrees are designed for students planning to complete an associate degree before transferring into a bachelor's degree program at one of the Oregon's public university-system (OUS) schools. OUS schools include University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, Western Oregon University, Southern Oregon University, Portland State University and Oregon Institute of Technology. Students transferring to an OUS school with an ASOT will have junior standing for the Computer Science major and for university registration purposes.

Associate of General Studies (AGS) –includes all Special Studies majors

The purpose of the AGS degree is to provide the student an opportunity to pursue a broad general education at a community college. It is intended as a flexible program for the student who is not preparing for a specific major in the lower division transfer or career-technical area. Because of the flexibility and broad approach of this degree, a student may find that courses used to fulfill the requirements may not necessarily be accepted as a transfer level at a four-year institution.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) –includes all Career and Technical programs

The AAS degree is the basis of Career and Technical programs, and is intended to prepare students for entering the workforce.

Certificate –includes all Career and Technical programs

Career and Technical program certificates convey the preparedness a student for work readiness or credentialing of specific skills.
