• MHCC Will Play Host to NWAC Track and Field Championships

    Gresham, Ore. — Mt. Hood Community College will be the host site of the upcoming 2016 Northwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships, taking place over two days, Mon-Tues, May 23-24.

    Eleven men's teams and ten women's teams from community colleges throughout the state will be competing. More than 500 athletes are expected to be taking part in either team or individual competitions.

    The Saints will send a number of individual athletes who are currently contenders in many different events, including:

    • Josh Turner, 110 High Hurdles
    • Brian Salgado, Shot Put
    • Lex Reese, Javelin
    • Danelle Woodcock, 100 Meters, Long Jump

    Returning NWAC All-Americans for the Saints include Josh Turner, and Kayla Watkins.

    "The teams have been working hard all year getting ready for the NWAC Championships and are ready to perform," said MHCC's men's and women's track and field head coach Doug Bowman. "The times and distances they have put out there over the last two meets shows they are ready."
