    Water Exercise Classes

    These classes offer a variety of exercise intensity options for adults and seniors. Exercise classes are offered as a drop-in fee, punch-card fee or with a membership. No class Nov. 12, 22, 23.

    DROP-INS Welcome in all adult exercise classes. Cost: $6 per visit for Seniors and Veterans, $8 for Adults.

    Water Exercise Drop-In Punch Card
    10 or 20 admissions to water exercise classes, valid for 6 months. Cost: $55 10-punch, $100 20-punch for Seniors (62+) and Veterans. $75 10-punch, $130 20-punch for Adults.

    Water Exercise Membership
    A great option for those who take Aquatic Center community water exercise classes 4 to 5 days per week. The fee covers unlimited water exercise classes for Fall term, Sept. 10–Dec. 14, 2018. Cost: $161 Senior and $215 for Adults. *Please see our website for modified class schedule Sept. 10-21.

    No classes Nov. 9, 12, 22 and 23. Membership pricing is based on current schedule and is prorated for closures. Please see mhcc.edu/aquatics for closures and holiday schedule

    Ai Chi
    This slow relaxation class is Tai Chi for the water, focusing on deep breathing, visualization, stretching and stress reduction. Exercises are performed in the 88–90 degree Learner Pool. Come learn a new way to stretch, balance and focus your mind and body!

    Ai Chi Ne
    This class uses the same exercises as Ai Chi, but is designed so that participants can perform the exercises solo or with a partner.

    PiYoFusion
    This class combines elements of our Aquacise class with the movements and principles of yoga and pilates. This is a low-impact aquatic conditioning, toning and stretching activity, designed to improve strength and flexibility. Exercises are performed in the warmer (88-90 degree) Learner pool. Swimming skills are not required.

    Arthritis Exercise Plus
    This is a moderate-paced exercise class that combines elements of Arthritis Foundation exercises with flexibility and strength conditioning. This class is gentle on the joints. Feel and move better! Exercises are performed in the 88–90 degree Learner pool.

    Aquacise
    This is a moderate-paced water exercise class. Emphasis is placed on flexibility and strength conditioning. This class is gentle on the joints. Exercises are performed in the warmer (88-90 degree) shallow Learner pool. Swimming skills are not required.

    Shallow Water Ex Offered at the same time as Deep Water Ex
    Join a fast-paced water exercise class for adults! Achieve your fitness goals in this strength, endurance and cardiovascular class. Exercises are performed in shallow water to music. No swimming skills are required. Classes are held in the 25-yard indoor pool.

    Shallow/Deep Water Ex
    Join a fast-paced water exercise class for adults! Achieve your fitness goals in this strength, endurance and cardiovascular class. Exercises are performed in shallow water to music. No swimming skills are required. Classes are held in the 25-yard indoor pool.

    Deep Water Ex
    Have fun in your workout without stressing your joints! Exercises are performed in deep water to music. Although you should feel comfortable in deep water, no swim- ming skills are required. Aqua Joggers, which work much like life jackets, are provided. Classes are held in the 25-yard indoor pool.

    Fusion Walk
    This is a low-impact activity that combines elements of Water Walking with the strength and cardio moves of Aquacise. The water provides more resistance and less joint stress than walking on land, allowing the student to vary their pace to meet their needs and fitness goals. Exercises are performed in the Learner pool.

    Adult and Teenage Swimming Lessons

    These classes offer individualized instruction in swimming skills, from learning the basics to improving strokes. Learn to enjoy and be comfortable in the water.

    Adult Lessons - Basics
    This class is for the beginning swimmer. Skills taught in this class include personal safety, breathing, floating, treading water and arm and leg movements.

    Adult Lessons - Fitness
    This class is for adults who wish to improve fitness, get more out of lap swim time, and improve strokes and turns. All six swimming strokes are taught, plus turns, diving, and use of the pace clocks for interval training.

    Teens: Stroke Improvement
