Behavioral Healthcare Specialist

The Behavioral Healthcare Specialist Career Pathway Certificate is ideal for people who would like to pursue an entry-level position in the behavioral health, mental health, or addictions fields. In addition to the job title of behavioral healthcare specialist, related job titles include social and human service assistant, case manager, client advocate, referral specialist, community-based or residential skills trainer, outreach specialist, parent coach/advocate, group facilitator, and psychiatric aide/technician. These professionals provide emotional support and counseling. They work closely with social workers, psychologists, and providers of medical and behavioral care. They maintain accurate records and consult with supervisors when problems come up.

Courses apply to the Mental Human/Human Service Associate of Applied Science Degree.
