General Academic Scholarships
The following links list the many scholarships available through the MHCC Foundation and other organizations. Under each category click on the application link to find out which scholarships are available this term. ( Link to Scholarship Application - PDF Format) Not all scholarships are available each term. Please check the current scholarship application for which scholarships are open for application each term.
ASG 11-12 Taylur DeWolf Legacy Scholarship
Scholarship for a student with a declared major who is taking at least 6 credits.
Taylur DeWolf was a member of the Associated Student Government (ASG) at Mt. Hood Community College during the 2011-2012 academic year. The entire MHCC community was affected by her passing on January 27, 2012. Taylur was active inGirl Scouts, tutoring elementary students, cheerleading, volunteering, mission trips, the worship team at her church,and events on campus. In 2010, Taylur received a Silver Award, the second highest honor given out by Girl Scouts. In 2011, she won the grand prize in Fuijifilm's photojournalism and fundraising contest by chronicling the building of a veterans' home in Sandy. Taylur wanted to become a biochemist and was taking classes toward that goal. Taylur was a key component of the Associated Student Government and ASG will always miss her infectious smile and the example she set for others.
American Association Of University Women Scholarship, Gresham Branch
Scholarship is for a female second-year student in a planned program of study. Student must be on track to graduate in the spring of the second year.
Betty and R.E. "Poly" Schedeen and Neighborhood Saints of MHCC Leadership Award
Scholarship for a person who has demonstrated leadership in high school, at MHCC, or in the community.
Burlingame Family Scholarship
Scholarship is for a full-time student.
Classified Association Scholarship
Must be a registered MHCC part-time student with a declared major.
Complete Your Dream Scholarship
Scholarship provides tuition for one academic year to a second-year student. Applicant must have completed a minimum 36 credit hours in a two-year degree program.
Dr. Earl L. Klapstein Founding President Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a student having attended MHCC full-time at least two previous quarters and is working toward completing either a one-year certificate program or an associate's degree.
Dwyre Family Scholarship for Sandy High School
Scholarship for a student attending Sandy High School at time of application. Must be carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours each term the scholarship is in effect.
A $500 scholarship to provide financial assistance to ENL students entering into ENL94 classes, or above.
Glenn Otto Community Service Award Scholarship
Scholarship for full-time new or current MHCC student who demonstrates a personal philosophy of and commitment to community service.
The Great Expectations Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at MHCC.
The John Lim/Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
Scholarship for a full-time student with one year of tuition at MHCC.
John Barry and Doris Ruth Norlin Scholarship
Scholarship for full or part-time student.
MHCC Foundation Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a full-time or part-time student carrying a minimum of 6 credit hours.
MHCC Foundation Scholarship for English as a Non-native Language (ENL) Students
A $500 scholarship to provide assistance to a full-time student enrolled in ENL classes. Must be enrolled in ENL classes; have a primary language other than English.
MHCC Foundation Scholarships for Part-Time Students
A scholarship for tuition for part-time credit hours and a textbook allowance up to $75 awarded to students enrolling in MHCC classes.
MEChA Club Scholarship
Scholarship for a first-year student. Must carry a minimum of six hours during the term the scholarship is in effect. Student must become a member of the MEChA Club before or during the term the scholarship is in effect.
Oregon Community Foundation Joseph E. Weston Scholarship
Scholarship for full-time MHCC student age 26 old or older. Must be enrolled or enrolling at MHCC to acquire additional or new training or education to become competitive and employable in the current market due to job loss caused by technology changes.
The Pepsi Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student enrolled at MHCC.
Portland Woman’s Club
Scholarship for full-time MHCC female student, age 26 years or older, with a declared major, working toward a degree or certificate, including the Career Pathways certificate programs. Student must be a Portland metro area high school or General Educational Development (GED) graduate. The Portland Woman’s Club advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research
Raymond and Vivian Murhammer Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship for full or part-time student.
Riverview Community Bank Scholarship
Scholarship for a full or part-time student.
Ron Russell Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship shall be used to recognize and honor a student of excellence and need with a one-term scholarship to attend Mt. Hood Community College. This scholarship was established in memory of former MHCC Board of Education member Ron Russell.
Shelie Macias Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a Hispanic/Latino full-time student. Must be participating in the MHCC ESL program.
Scholarship awarded to a full-time student having completed 36 credit hours in a two-year degree program or 12 credit hours in a certificate program.
The Sed and Betty Stuart Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student having completed 12 credit hours.
Study Abroad Scholarship
A scholarship for a full-time student who has completed 13 credit hours at MHCC before beginning a study abroad program.
Supervisory Association Scholarship for Part-Time Students*
Student must be enrolled in an employment skills upgrading class.
Wessinger Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship for a full or part-time student with a declared major.
Walt Morey Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a full-time student with a declared major carrying a minimum of 12 credits.
