ART258 :  Jewelrymaking/Metalsmithing II

This course continues the study of applied design principles in metalsmithing and jewelrymaking, emphasizing original designs. Students continue to learn manipulative skills with hand tools and power equipment related to more advanced technical processes. Discussions of jewelry/art metal and how it relates to fashion design, as well as historical and contemporary implications are included. Students considering a career in the jewelry and metalsmithing trades receive practical guidelines for pursuing their profession. ART257, ART258 and ART259 are sequential.
