ECE261 :  Child Development Principles

This course is a survey of developmental topics, related to basic theories about children's behavior from birth to age 8. It is designed to provide a framework for appropriate decision making by parents and professionals. The focus includes age-appropriate expectations, understanding the links between developmental principles and outcomes and the significance of research findings for each stage.
Prerequisite: RD090 and WR090, each with a grade of "C" or better, or placement above stated course levels; and ECE140, ECE144, ECE145 and ECE161,
