The Medical Receptionist holds a key position in the medical office in greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing patient information, managing the reception desk, and assisting with other responsibilities.
In today's modern medical office environment, the Medical Receptionist requires skills in human relations, data processing, communication, electronic medical records and medical office operations.
Job opportunities are found in doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics and government medical facilities.
At MHCC, a Certificate as a Medical Receptionist may be awarded to a student who completes classes and internship requirements.
The program is directed by a full-time instructor/program coordinator, Carole Wickham.
Industry professionals from the Portland area are adjunct faculty who teach in their areas of particular expertise. We feel that the students benefit by learning from active, accomplished professionals who are able to bring real-world experiences into the classroom.
