If you are a high school senior interested in continuing your theatrical or musical studies at the college level, visit the Performing Arts Department at Mt. Hood Community College on Friday, January 30th, 2015. Meet the faculty and observe any of the classes and rehearsals, ranging from band and choir to theatre improv, set design and construction, and electronic music production. Most importantly, bring a song and/or monologue and audition for your share in the $15,000 of scholarship money available for the 2015-2016 academic year.

This class is open to any interested students and will cover topics that are both familiar and foreign to incoming students. This will serve as an accurate model for what studying music at Mt Hood Community College will be.

Symphonic Choir: A choir open to all members of the MHCC community with a pitch-matching audition. Watch as they prepare for their upcoming Americana concert on March 13th, featuring American art songs, gospel, broadway, and country.

Chamber Choir: An advanced choir open to all members of the MHCC community with a vocal stability audition. Watch as they prepare for their upcoming Americana concert on March 13th, featuring American art songs, gospel, broadway, and country. 


Brass Ensemble MUP114 1 - 2 p.m. AC2101 Grant Linsell
Get a glimpse of a normal student-lead rehearsal of one of MHCC’s chamber groups.

Actor/Singer Auditions 2 - 3 p.m. Choir Room - AC2138 Mace Archer and Kevin Lambert
Actors will present a monolog and a song, totaling no more than 2 minutes. Bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided.

Observe Load In/Construction for Drowsy Chaperone

Instrumental Auditions 2 - 5 p.m. Band Room - AC2102 Grant Linsell
Students should prepare any composition that showcases their artistry and bring one additional copy of the sheet music for the audition panel. Auditions will be scheduled in ten-minute blocks.
