Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

I don't get paid until after the term ends; can you put a note on my account so I don't get sent to collections?

R.

No, the college cannot make special payment arrangements

Q.

I'm waiting for financial aid, and I need to register for next term.

R.

If you owe any money for a previous term, you will not be able to register for the next term.

Q.

My account is delinquent; can I make payments to avoid late fees or collections?

R.

No. Click here for more details

Q.

I filed a petition, why am I getting charged late fees?

R.

When you file a petition, your account is active and accruing late fees when there is a balance. If your petition is approved, your late fees will be covered by the appeal unless there are other non-covered classes that remain unpaid. If your petition is denied, you are responsible for paying the tuition and late fees.

Q.

I need to know how much my son/daughter owes so I can pay for her classes.

R.

Unless we have a signed consent form on file, we cannot give you any information regarding your child's account. Students can set up authorized payers through MyMHCC who would have the ability to review the student’s account balance and pay online on your behalf. Click here for more details

Q.

My account is on hold, and I need a copy of my transcripts for my parents so they'll pay the tuition.

R.

Transcripts will not be released if your account is on hold. You may set your parents up as an authorized payer through MyMHCC which will allow them to pay your account online. It does not give them authority to view your transcript.

Q.

I need to know if my son/daughter is attending classes before I'll pay.

R.

Admissions and Records can tell you if your son/daughter is enrolled at Mt. Hood Community College, but not if they are attending their classes. The student is responsible for payment of charges incurred when registering, whether or not they attend class.
