The responsiveness of the LSC has been impressive. Our students in developmental reading know that they can go there and be welcomed. They have a sense of an open door, and I've seen them make gains in language skill development as a result. In the LSC lab, students needs are met in a number of ways: accessing the Portal, finding useful software for improving skills, and even help when their flash drives seem to be acting up and complicating life.
The LSC has not shied away from dealing with challenging populations, and has consistently stepped up to help students with disabilities.
The LSC staff have been proactive, reaching out to us, joining in our department staff meetings to discuss how the LSC can better serve our students. I've been really impressed by that.
