AR 6850: Hazardous Materials

Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is committed to safely reusing, recycling, and disposing of all universal and hazardous waste materials. To accomplish this goal, the college operates a safe and effective program that safeguards the environment and public, student, and employee health. The college’s program complies with applicable federal, state, and local rules and laws and incorporates best management practices.

MHCC functions as a “Conditionally Exempt Generator” (CEG). This designation aligns with the mutual expectations and practices outlined in the MHCC Waste Management Guide, Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan, Spill Response Plan, and Emergency Operations Plan. The documents guide the procurement, storage, and disposal methods and exemplify environmental commitments.

The universal and hazardous waste management program is maintained by the Environmental Health and Safety department and is reviewed and updated on an as-needed basis.

A copy of the universal and hazardous waste program and additional information can be found on the college’s risk management webpage.
