Mt. Hood Community College Announces Donna Ryan as New Aquatics Manager

Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna M. Ryan as the new aquatics manager, overseeing both indoor and outdoor pools at the MHCC aquatic center. With her extensive experience in program coordination, aquatic operations, and a deep commitment to community engagement, Ryan brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.

Ryan's career reflects her dedication to education, community involvement, and aquatic management. She holds two master’s degrees and many different certifications related to first aid, water safety, and water fitness. Her educational background reflects her commitment to continuous learning and personal growth..

Before stepping into her role as aquatics manager, Ryan served as the program coordinator for aquatics at MHCC for more than two decades. Her responsibilities included overseeing the scheduling of activities, private rentals, and swim lesson programs for the community. She also played a vital role in coordinating special events and competitions for local, regional, and national organizations.

Ryan also taught American Red Cross certification courses, developed and implemented emergency action plans, conducted quarterly in-service trainings, and ensured compliance with all safety regulations.

In addition to her work in aquatics, Ryan has been a part-time faculty member at MHCC, teaching a range of courses, including CPR, advanced lap swim, and various art-related subjects. Her dedication to her students and her ability to engage them in their learning experience have made her a valuable asset to the MHCC community.

Ryan officially assumes her role as aquatics manager on Sept. 1.
