Mental Health/Human ServiceMental Health/Human Service

The Mental Health/Human Service program prepares students for entry-level positions in community and institutional treatment facilities, and in behavioral health care. Graduates work in mental health, drug and alcohol programs, older adult programs, community corrections, youth serving agencies and as case managers. Many students are able to smoothly transfer to 4-year colleges to complete bachelor degrees in social work, child and family studies and related behavioral science fields.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist AssistantPhysical Therapist Assistants work directly with patients to restore physical activity following an accident, surgery or illness. Under the supervision of a physical therapist, physical therapist assistants teach patients body mechanics, posture, strengthening, stretching, balance, and coordination exercises and how to use wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers. Physical therapist assistants also use techniques such as heat, cold, ultrasound, traction, electrotherapy, massage, aquatic and hydrotherapy in the treatment of patients.
