PTA201 :  Physical Therapy Interventions 4

This course covers the pathology and management of diabetes, limb amputation, selected medical/surgical conditions and stroke. Discussion includes epidemiology, prevention and risk factors, diagnostic procedures and medical/surgical management of these conditions as well as rehabilitation strategies to address typical impairments for these patients/clients. Principles of motor learning and motor control are discussed, as well as evidence-based practice and a process to evaluate the strength and quality of research relevant to physical therapy practice.
Prerequisite: PTA103 and PTA103L, each with a grade of "C" or better; and concurrent enrollment in PTA201L.
