Mt. Hood Community College Planetarium Show Explores Winter Sky
Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) will present a planetarium show, Dec. 6 on “Exploring the Winter Sky.”
The winter sky holds many fascinating objects including bright stars, unusual nebulae, star clusters and galaxies. Learn more with a tour of these objects using the unaided eye and detailed images from space telescopes. The show will also focus on the total eclipse of the moon and present information on when and where to observe this rare event.
“Exploring the Winter Sky” will be presented live at 7 and 8:15 p.m. in the MHCC Planetarium Sky Theater, located near the library on the Gresham campus, 26000 SE Stark Street. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program.
Children are welcome to attend. The planetarium is wheelchair accessible. Admission for the general public is $2 and free for MHCC students. (Student identification required). Planetarium shows are held the first Monday of each month, October through June. The Jan. 3 show will be “Badly Behaving Galaxies.”
