Mt. Hood Community College Planetarium Show Offers ‘A Preview of the Summer Sky’

Summer will soon be here with warm and clear evenings. To help you better appreciate this beauty, the Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Planetarium will present “A Preview of the Summer Sky,” June 6 on the Gresham Campus, 26000 SE Stark St.
Planetarium Director Pat Hanrahan will show visitors how to locate the planets Saturn and Jupiter as well as prominent constellations, star clusters, galaxies and a new comet that will make a close approach to earth in mid-August.
“A Preview of the Summer Sky” will be presented live at 7 and 8:15 p.m. in the MHCC Planetarium Sky Theater. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program.
Children are welcome to attend. The planetarium is wheelchair accessible. Admission for the general public is $2 and free for MHCC students. (Student identification required.) Planetarium shows are held the first Monday of each month, October through June.
