Saturday Crafts Fair to Benefit MHCC Scholarship
Posted: Oct. 13, 2011
Looking for that perfect holiday decoration or gift? Stop by the Vista at Mt. Hood Community College's (MHCC) Gresham Campus this Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. for the Kerri Foland Scholarship Craft Fair. The fair will feature items from local artists such as pottery, paintings, photography, jewelry, wind chimes, purses and much more. Visitor parking on campus will be complimentary during the fair.
The scholarship will provide funds for students enrolled in MHCC's Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. MHCC graduate Jennifer Layng started the scholarship and craft fair in the name of her classmate, Kerri Foland, who was studying to become a PTA, and lost her life in April 2010 to cancer. "Kerri was a wonderful mother, wife and friend. She is missed by many but we will keep her caring legacy alive through this scholarship," says Layng.
