Experts Offer Assistance with FAFSA

Mt. Hood Community College Holds ‘Financial Aid Day’ to Help Students Find Money for College
Learn how to get money for college at “Financial Aid Day,” an event where current and prospective students can receive help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Current and future students must complete the FAFSA each year to receive financial aid from federal and state governments.
This event will be held, Jan. 14,, 9 a.m. - 1p.m. in the Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Library, room AC3333, located on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark Street. MHCC’s “Financial Aid Day” is part of College Goal Oregon, a statewide initiative to simplify the FAFSA process for students.
Students should bring their 2010 IRS tax returns, 2011 end-of-year pay stubs (if tax returns are not yet completed), current value of assets, social security number (and those of their parents if student is a dependent), driver’s license and alien registration card (if applicable).
Experts from the MHCC financial aid office will be on hand to offer free one-on-one assistance with the FAFSA, and provide information about scholarships and tips for writing winning essays.

Visitors will not be required to purchase a parking permit on Jan. 14. MHCC is a tobacco-free campus.
