Annual Hospitality and Tourism Dinner to Feature Peruvian Cuisine
What do Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) and Peru have in common?
If you said their connectedness to high mountain peaks, you would be only partially correct. On Feb. 25, MHCC’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program’s 21st annual NW Dinner and Silent Auction will feature Peruvian cuisine, presented by guest chef Hank Costello, from Andina restaurant in Portland’s Pearl District. Proceeds from the event will provide scholarships and help fund a field trip for students.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. (dinner served at 6:30 p.m.) in the Town & Gown room on MHCC’s Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark St. Tickets are $70 per person and may be purchased by calling the Hospitality and Tourism Club at 503-491-7486 or visiting mhcc.edu/galadinner. Reservations are required.
MHCC’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program trains and prepares students for careers in these industries. Creating an atmosphere of academic excitement and providing hands-on experience are made possible by this annual fundraising event.
Planning the Event Gives Students Valuable Experience
Students in the program take an active role in planning, marketing, organizing and running the dinner & auction. They select the theme, invite the guest chef, develop the menu, design all decorations and gather donated auction items.
Individuals requiring accommodations due to a disability may contact the MHCC Disability Services Office at 503-491-6923 or 503-491-7670 (TDD). Please call at least two weeks prior to the event to ensure availability. MHCC is a tobacco-free campus.
