Jeff Baker Quarter to Join MHCC Ensemble

Genesis, the Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) vocal jazz ensemble, will perform 7:30 p.m., April 13 in the Visual Arts Theatre, located on the Gresham Campus, 26000 SE Stark St.

The ensemble will be joined by the Jeff Baker Quartet, with Jeff Baker on vocals, Justin Neilsen on piano, Clark Sommers on bass and Kobie Watkins on drums.

Dave Barduhn, MHCC instructor and music and jazz ensemble director, says, “Jeff Baker is a highly versatile jazz singer who is strongly inspired by the wonderful Chet Baker. Jeff was also a mentor for many recent Genesis students. His bass player and drummer also play for the Grammy winner Kurt Elling. It’s going to be a fabulous concert!”

Tickets will be available at the door the day of the concert: $10 for students with identification and $15 for general admission. Parking will be free during the performance.

Individuals requiring accommodations due to a disability may contact the MHCC Disability Services Office at 503-491-6923 or 503-491-7670 (TDD).

MHCC is a tobacco free campus.
