Board Approves Tuition and Fees
Posted: May 10, 2012
The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) District Board of Education approved tuition and fee increases that will take effect the first day of summer term enrollment, May 11, 2012.
- In-state tuition will increase $5 per credit, from $84 to $89
- The college service fee will increase from $30 to $40 to fund improvements to financial aid services
- The distance learning fee will increase from $40 to $55 to support administrative costs
In addition, the Board also approved a new $35 access fee which is expected to help offset a budget shortfall as well as make parking more convenient for students. Revenue from the access fee is expected to be used for improved security presence and surveillance cameras in parking lots, and to subsidize the sale of discounted TriMet passes at the Campus Bookstore.
The access fee is $35 for each term a student is enrolled in at least one credit class.
