43rd Annual 'Scrooge Lives' Craft Sale Slated for MHCC Dec. 4 and 5

Posted November 19, 2012

It's time to go shopping for those special folks on your holiday list–or maybe even for yourself!

Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) will hold the 43rd annual Scrooge Lives holiday craft sale Dec. 4 (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Dec. 5 (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.) in the Gresham Campus Student Union. Shawn Schlogel, an MHCC graduate, will play holiday tunes in a solo piano performance, noon - 1 p.m., both days.

Nearly 50 vendors will be on hand this year–up from the usual 35-38 vendors. They include a couple of octogenarians–one creates exquisite hand-turned bowls and the other creates charming birdhouses and squirrel feeders. Numerous vendors will offer "green" products, such as bamboo clothing and jewelry form recycled materials. Personalized children's books, musical instruments, original artwork and many other items will also be available.

"I'm excited about this year's event because we'll be able to offer students 200 $5 discount coupons each day because of the increased number of vendors," says Mary Burlingame, from the Student Union.

Scrooge Lives will be held on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark Street. Parking on all MHCC campuses is free, all days, all times.
