Free Help with FAFSA Available Each Friday at MHCC
Posted: January 24, 2013
Want to earn a college degree but you’re short on cash? The first step to being considered for financial aid is to complete a form commonly called the FAFSA – and Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is here to help!
The college’s Financial Aid office will hold “FAFSA Fridays” each Friday, Feb. 1 – June 14, 1 – 2:30 p.m. in Room AC2554 on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark Street. Staff will help students access and complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). One-one-one assistance will be available.
Christi Hart, Financial Aid manager, says, “The time to apply for financial aid is now. Students can save themselves time and stress by doing one simple thing – apply early. And, the FAFSA is an important first step. Some people find the FAFSA daunting, but our staff is knowledgeable and patient and we welcome any student who asks for our help.”
Students should bring their 2012 IRS tax returns, 2012 end-of-year pay stubs (if tax returns are not yet complete), current value of assets, Social Security number (and those of their parents if student is a dependent), driver’s license and alien registration card (if applicable).
Parking on all MHCC campuses is free, all days, all times.
