MHCC’s Gresham Campus to Host Triathlon

Swim. Bike. Run. Celebrate! Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) will be the site for a triathlon that is expected to bring more than 400 athletes to the area, May 27 of Memorial Day weekend.

The Mt. Hood Sprint Triathlon is a partnership among Series 33 Triathlon and the MHCC Aquatic Center, MHCC Associated Student Government (ASG) and several student clubs.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., competitors will swim one-half mile in the college’s outdoor pool, then tackle a 13.3-mile bike course featuring a couple of challenging climbs and a two-mile section that is expected to quickly zap cyclists’ legs. Next,competitors will run 3.1 miles (5 kilometers) on campus and local streets, ending near the Aquatic Center.
