Two Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) employees, Sydney Eustrom and Heather White, have been selected to participate in the Oregon Institute for Leadership Development (OILD), a state program for women working as faculty, staff and administrators in Oregon community colleges, who are interested in leadership and personal and professional growth.

Eustrom serves as manager for Student Outreach & Retention
and White works in the library as the Technical Services coordinator.

Participants are chosen for their professional abilities, potential and their interest in advancement. OILD is recognized by colleges throughout the state as a program that produces leaders who effectively challenge assumptions, eliminate barriers and create new pathways to successful solutions.

This four-day program will take place June 24-27 at the Silver Falls Conference Center, in Sublimity, Ore. It is modeled after the National Institute for Leadership Development, a professional development institute also for women in higher education and public service. Session topics include human relations skills, problem solving, balancing priorities, team building, leadership and organizational transformation as well as discussions with state experts and community college leaders on issues confronting community colleges during the next decade.
