Novelists Can Boost their Word Count at MHCC Bookstore During November
Posted: November 7, 2013
Are you looking for a way to release your inner Ernest Hemingway, John Grisham or J.K. Rowling? The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Bookstore has just what an aspiring novelist needs!
MHCC is celebrating National Novel Writing Month (called NaNoWriMo by folks in a hurry) to help writers start or finish a novel during November. The goal is to write 50,000 words during the month.
“While we invite future bestselling authors (that’s you and everyone you know) in anytime to take advantage of our free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and local Kobos coffee roast, we are providing the extra comfort –and motivation– to succeed,” says Jonathan Esterman, lead sales associate in the Bookstore. Scheduled “Write-Ins” are:
- Nov. 7, 3 – 6 p.m.
- Nov. 12, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Nov. 15, 1 – 5 p.m.
- Nov. 22, 1 – 5 p.m.
- Nov. 26, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
During these times, the Bookstore will have exclusive promotions for writers participating in the NaNoWriMo campaign, including discounted beverages and coupons for after the event ends, additional power for charging computers and a relaxed bag policy.
“We encourage writers to stop by, smell the coffee and get their word count soaring. If a writer swings by often enough, then there will be some special rewards in line for them,” says Esterman.
