Line up a Summer Job Now, with Help from MHCC
Posted: January 7, 2014
The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Career Planning and Counseling Center (CPCC) is hosting the 8th annual Summer Jobs Fair, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Feb. 4, in the Student Union at 26000 S.E. Stark St. in Gresham.
The CPCC is again partnering with the college’s Project YESS program to offer a Natural Resources Career Exploration Fair, the same day, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., upstairs from the Student Union in the Jazz Café. Project YESS (Youth Employability Support Services) helps prepare students for the General Educational Development (GED) examination, establish career goals, transition to college and receive assistance in finding a job.
The Summer Jobs Fair offers students and community members the opportunity to meet with employers who are hiring for great summer/seasonal positions, as well as ongoing employment. Employers that have attended in the past include City of Gresham Parks, Mt. Hood Community College Aquatic Center, METRO, Princess Tours and KOIN 6 Television. The Oregon Department of Forestry and YMCA Camp Collins have signed on for this year. The Natural Resources Career Exploration Fair last year included the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, METRO, Mt. Hood Community College’s Natural Resources program and others.
Parking on all MHCC campuses is free, no permit required. People requiring accommodations due to a disability should contact the disability services office at 503-491-6923. Please call at least two weeks prior to the event.
