MHCC Visual Arts Department Presents ‘Lori Lorion: The Dream Awake’

Posted: January 23, 2014

The MHCC Visual Arts Gallery presents “The Dream Awake,” a solo exhibition featuring the work of Lori Lorion.

A full-time art instructor at MHCC, Lorion’s show will be comprised of about 20 paintings, some of which were created during her sabbatical in 2011-12, that quietly ponder the most basic of human experiences: that of cycles.

“Human figures are often the subject of my work,” says Lorion. “I am interested in expressing ideas about language, human relationships and psychological states. I explore external contemporary realities by penetrating inner worlds of the psyche and reflecting upon how these states are translated through language.”

The exhibition will be on display Feb. 3 – 27.  A reception will be held in the Visual Arts Gallery  Feb. 6, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; closed weekends and holidays. For more information, please contact Miles Browne at 503-491-7309 or
