MHCC Presents Tim Mooney’s ‘Moliere than Thou’ and ‘Great Speeches’ April 16
Posted: April 7, 2014
Tim Mooney, professional actor and teacher, will give his last local performance of his famous skit show, “Moliere than Thou,” April 16, 2 p.m., at the Mt. Hood Community College Studio Theatre.
The performance, in English, consists of hilarious, brief skits taken from Moliere’s most famous comedies, such as “Tartuffe” and “The Would-be Invalid or Scapin.”
Mooney is also known for directly involving members of the audience in some of his skits. Unfortunately for his fans in Oregon, this is the last of his national tours. After this, you will need to go to Chicago to see him perform.
In addition to Moliere skits, Mooney will also perform his new Great Speeches show (Gettysburg Address, Brutus’ Tribute to Caesar, Churchill’s Blood, Sweat and Tears and more), noon in the Studio Theatre. Both plays are free.
Mooney has received high praise in many cities. One writer calls him a “chameleon” and opined that his performance is “enraged, excited and electrifying…he is all over the stage and a joy to watch!”
MHCC students, employees and members of the community are invited to join the fun. Both plays are presented by the MHCC Associated Student Government and the college’s Humanities division. The Studio Theatre is located on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark St.
