MHCC Student Foresters Adopt a Road and Plan Earth Day Cleanup
Posted: April 17, 2014
The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) chapter of the Society of American Foresters (SAF) invite you to join them in a community project in celebration of Earth Day.
SAF plans to clean up Deverall Road, located on Larch Mountain in east Multnomah County. The club has made a three-year commitment to maintaining the roadside through the county’s Adopt-a-Road program.
“Our Natural Resources program at MHCC utilizes several timber stands in this area for field studies, so we felt that it was a natural choice to show our appreciation to the community and promote the stewardship that is embodied in Natural Resource Management,” says Ashley Ferro, MHCC student and SAF chair.
- Saturday, April 19, 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
- Meet at the corner of Larch Mountain and Deverell Roads
- Multnomah County will provide supplies
