MHCC Theatre Department Presents Children’s Production, “The Emperor’s Dragon”

Thursday, October 01, 2009 - Saturday, November 21, 2009

The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Theatre department’s first production of the season, “The Emperor’s Dragon,” is a children’s production that even adults will enjoy. This tall tale takes place in ancient feudal Japan and tells the story of Torao, an orphan who is determined to return the Emperor’s baby dragon to its mother on Mt. Fuji. But first, Torao must escape the clutches of his demented uncle and the greatest Shogun in all of Japan.

“The Emperor’s Dragon” will be performed for school groups on Monday, Nov. 9, Thursday, Nov. 12, Friday, Nov. 13, Monday, Nov. 16, Wednesday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 20. School groups may make reservations with the MHCC Performing Arts Box Office at 503-491-7154, ext. 1. Early registration is encouraged, as seating is limited and performances have sold out in previous years. Teachers should collect the entrance fee from their students and pay at the door on the day of performance. However, no one will be turned away because of inability to pay.

A performance for the general public will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m.; no reservations needed. All performances will be in the MHCC Theatre on the Gresham Campus. Tickets are $2 per person for all performances. For more information, call the Performing Arts department at 503-491-6969 or by clicking here http://www.mhcc.edu/pages/3164.asp.
