Mt. Hood Community College Locations to Close for Thanksgiving Week and Winter Break

All Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) locations will close Thanksgiving week, Monday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 27. The College will be open the weekend before Thanksgiving week on Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22 and will re-open for scheduled weekend classes, activities and library access on Saturday, Nov. 28.

All locations will close for the winter break on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 and remain closed through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. Winter term classes begin the week of Jan. 4, 2010. Some MHCC grant-funded programs or activities may have alternative schedules. Check www.mhcc.edu for specific schedule information.

In response to current budget constraints faced by the College due to reduction in state funding, administrators, faculty and staff have agreed to reduce the number of days worked and will take some of these days as unpaid furlough days. By consolidating the furlough days into the same period, the College may also save additional funds by reducing utility costs associated with keeping the campus open.

These closure days were chosen to minimize the impact to students.
