One-Day Hands-On Training in QuickBooks
New to QuickBooks or have little bookkeeping experience? This is the workshop to get you started right using the best selling accounting software. Learn to navigate in QuickBooks, enter your sales, and pay your bills.

QuickBooks Bootcamp 2: Making QuickBooks Work for You
One-Day Hands-On Training in QuickBooks
Create and customize a company in QuickBooks. Discover QuickBooks built-in features that help you better understand your financial data to make better management decisions. For people who have completed QuickBooks Bootcamp 1 or have bookkeeping experience.

Business Plan Bootcamp

Prepare a simple business plan for your business. Whether you want a business plan to get a loan, to help you start a business or to help you manage your business, this hands-on workshop will take you through the process of writing a short business plan. You will work on your plan throughout the workshop. Workshop includes textbook, software and individual one-hour follow-up session with the instructor.

Contracting with the Government Part II

Small businesses face challenges when trying to win federal, state and local government contracts. The SBA can help small businesses work through these challenges. In addition to the basics covered in Part I, this class provides a more in depth approach to discovering and seeking contract opportunities available as well as the possible marketing tools that may assist in selling your product or service to the government.

The most productive way for business owners to eat their lunch! Bring your lunch and learn about a small business topic while meeting other small business professionals. All Lunch & Learn seminars will be held at the Small Business Development Center, 323 N.E. Roberts Ave, Gresham, OR 97030 and are no charge.

September 10: The 5 Ws of Business Insurance What is it? Who needs it? When is it needed? Where is it needed? Why is it needed? This class will address basic questions regarding business personal property, commercial general liability, bonds, and workers compensation insurance. September 24: Getting A SBA Business Loan: The U.S. Small Business Administration is the largest source of long-term small business financing in the nation? Private lenders make loans and the SBA guarantees a percentage of the loan amount up to $1.5 million. Attend an SBA Loan Briefing to get your questions answered and find out what to do next! Speaker: Russell Hooker, SBA
October 1: How the State of Oregon can Help You & Your Employees Pay for Health Insurance: The state of Oregon has a program to help uninsured employees and dependents pay for health insurance. State staff will explain how the program helps employers and employees. Also learn about a program that helps those unable to obtain medical insurance because of health conditions and about the State of Oregons free Prescription Discount Card for Oregonians. October 8: Basics of Leasing Business and Office Space: This workshop covers the essential components of a commercial lease, definitions of terms, and when to get a commercial real estate broker involved. It will also include the process to find the right property/location for your business. It will explain the purpose and common terms of a commercial lease. October 15: OFCCP Compliance Guidelines for Contractors:
Are you a construction company that has government contracts? Are you in compliance with the nondiscrimination and affirmative action requirements of the Federal labor laws? The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), a Division of the Department of Labor, will outline the basics of being in compliance.

October 29: GREAT Business Program-Saving Resources and Branding Your Business as Green: More than two thirds of American consumers say they consider a companys business practices when deciding what to buy. Many businesses are realizing the financial and marketplace opportunities associated with resource conservation.
The City of Greshams GREAT Business Program is here to help. We offer assistance and resources to enhance your recycling, waste prevention, water and energy conservation, all with the aim of making your business more resource efficient. We then provide certification and recognition for businesses that are dedicated to being green. Come learn about our recognition and resource conservation.
