How Are the Test Scored?

How Can I Prepare for the Test?

Check a local library for GED preparation books to help you study.

Enroll in GED preparation classes at MHCC if you wish. Practice tests are given and your instructor can help you determine when you are ready to take the test. Classes cost $25 and you receive a $10 discount on your GED testing fee. Call (503) 491-7333 for more information.

Make sure to be well-rested and eat before you test. Your health makes a difference in your test performance.

What if I Fail a Test?

You must pay a $10 retest fee per failed test and bring your receipt to the Testing Center. If you have trouble passing multiple tests after multiple tries, you may want to consider enrolling in a preparation class.
