GED Testing Schedule

GED Testing - Mt. Hood Community College
Summer 2008 TESTING SCHEDULE
June 23rd – August 28th, 2008

NEW MHCC GED TESTERS

If you have never taken GED tests at MHCC you must follow these steps:

  1. Pay $85 GED test fee in Student Services (room 2253) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you pay the testing fee with a check, you will not be able to take the test for two weeks (ten business days). To avoid this delay in service, please plan to pay by cash, money order, debit or credit card.

  2. Attend a session to complete the paperwork required for the GED exam. Sessions will begin at the following times. Please arrive at the Testing Center, room 2335, 15 minutes early. The session will last approximately one hour.

    Mondays: 1:00 p.m. (No Session May 26th)
    Thursdays: 5:00 p.m.
    Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. - April 5th, May 17th and June 7th ONLY

You must bring the following items with you to this paperwork session. If you fail to bring any of the required items, you will be asked to return another time.

      1. Your receipt showing that your testing fees have been paid.
      2. Your Photo ID. The only ID that we can accept is Government issued (such as a drivers’ license or other DMV issued ID, passport, or military ID cards)
      3. If you are 16 or 17 years old, your Option/Parent Assurance form or your Exemption from Compulsory Attendance form. These can be obtained from the last high school you attended.
  3. Once your forms are complete, you may begin testing. Testing times are listed on the back of this page.

If you wish to take your tests in Spanish, please notify the testing center staff before you begin testing.

TESTERS FROM OTHER GED TESTING SITES

If you started testing elsewhere and wish to finish your tests at Mt. Hood Community College, you must complete steps 2 and 3, listed above. In addition to the above-mentioned items, you must bring your score report from the other testing site. You will be charged $10 for each remaining test.

If you are transferring to MHCC from an out-of-state testing site, you will need to pay a $25 fee in addition to the $10 per test fee.

Disability Services

Those with documented disabilities who will require accommodation on any of the GED tests can call 491-6923 V/TDD to make necessary arrangements.

Continuing GED Testors

If you have already completed your GED paperwork or have taken one or more GED tests at MHCC since 2002, you may drop in during one of the scheduled testing sessions listed on the back of this page. No appointment is necessary, however, only the first 20 people will be admitted due to space. You must arrive no later than the published session start time. Candidates arriving after the session start time will be asked to return at another time. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • You must bring photo ID each time you test. No exceptions will be made. Personal belongings (i.e., cell phones, purses, book-bags, jackets, hats, etc.) will not be allowed in the testing room. You may check in for testing only after the previous test session has begun.

  • Once you begin a test, you will not be permitted to leave the testing center until the test is complete.

  • Those who do not pass a portion of the GED test or who do not achieve the minimum 450 average will be charged $10 per retest. You may retest two times per year, per test. If you have passed the GED but require a higher score for employment, college entrance or apprenticeship purposes, please call 491-7678 or stop by the Testing Center for further information.

Receiving Your Test Results

With the exception of the Writing test, your results will be available within 24 hours of finishing your test(s). Because the Writing test is scored off-site, the results will be available 2-3 weeks after testing. You must present your photo ID to obtain scores. Results will not be given over the phone or to anyone other than the student. To view your scores, go to www.ged123.org. You will be prompted to enter an access code. This code will be provided to you after you complete your first test.
