Mental Health / Human Service

Associate in Applied Science Degree

Mental Health / Human Services is a two year degree in helping skills that will qualify you to work in your choice of helping settings. You could work in addictions treatment, in community corrections, with troubled youth/children, with the elderly, with the disabled, or with persons with mental illness. Courses are offered during the day, in the evening and on weekends.

Your learning will take place in the classroom and in agency settings, working directly with clients while you apply your textbook and classroom knowledge.

You can transfer your two year degree to go on to advanced degrees.

Our graduates describe their experience as "rich and fruitful", "lots of personal growth" and learning how to use their talents as a helper in more and more effective ways in the community.

MHCC also offers a one-year Youth Worker Certificate program, as well as a number of career development courses for professionals in the Mental Health / Human Service field.
