Test of English language as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)


TOEFL Testing Centers in Oregon

Prospective students for Mt. Hood Community College are required to earn an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 500 (paper-based test) or 173 (computer-based test) or 61 (internet-based test, available in 2006). Students who score at least 450 on the paper-based TOEFL, 133 on the computerized test, or 45 on the internet-based test may be admitted into developmental English classes (ENL) during their first year. Applicants who do not meet the minimum TOEFL requirement, will need to enroll in English as a Second Language courses (ESL) at a CIS approved English Language Program before being eligible to transfer to MHCC.

The following is a list of testing centers in Oregon that offer the TOEFL. You will need to call ahead and make an appointment to take the TOEFL. Please have the testing center send your official scores to Mt. Hood Community College. MHCC’s TOEFL code is 4508.
