Central Electrical Training Center
Under the direction of the JATC, the 30,000 square foot center was designed to facilitate training in all aspects of the electrical construction industry. Apprentices in three occupations within the electrical building trades provide related training in the center. The programs are described below:
Inside Electrical apprentices perform electrical construction, maintenance, repair and service. They work on electrical construction projects ranging from single-family residences to state-of-the-art industrial plants. They install conduits and wire lighting, switches, converters and complex computerized systems. Inside Apprentices are trained toward a General Journeyman Electrician License which allows them to do all forms of electrical construction.
Limited Energy apprentices are trained to meet the requirements of a Limited Energy journeyman license, which covers a variety of low voltage applications including Voice, Data, Video, and Alarms.
Residential apprentices complete their training with a Limited Residential Electrician License, which allows them to wire houses and apartment style dwellings.
