Engineers are in high demand not only in Oregon but across the country. In fact,
there are not enough people to fill the jobs available.
You’ll find jobs with such companies as: structural design firms, general
and specialty contractors, manufacturing companies, as well as city, county,
state and federal offices.
MHCC offers associate of applied science degrees in Architectural, Civil and
Mechanical Engineering Technology. All three Engineering Technology degrees
are designed to put graduates to work after completion of two years of education.
These graduates would be technicians who work along with and assist engineers
or other experienced professionals in industry.
Engineering is the educational path to take if you want to become a professional
engineer, or an engineer responsible for applying high levels of mathematics,
science, and research in design. This educational path would require at least
four years of college education and a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Mt.
Hood offers the first two years of Engineering education, and students would
transfer their credits and complete their degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering at a university.
One year certificates in Architectural and Mechanical Technology are available
for students completing the first year of the two-year program.
