Women's Basketball
2010 Team Outlook

The Mt Hood Womens Basketball team enters the 2009-10 season hungry to take the next step toward becoming a championship-caliber program. The Saints return 6 players from last years 5th place team; 4 of which were starters. Combined with a talented freshman class; the team has a number of capable players who will contribute to the teams success this season. Mt Hood looks to build off last seasons strong finish. The Saints will rely on a high intensity up-tempo style of play and will look to set the tone defensively. This could possibly be the best defensive team that Ive ever had the privilege of coaching and possibly the best defense the NWAACC Conference has seen in years.
The Saints strength of schedule will yet be a factor in the teams success this season. If we want to be recognized and taken seriously as a top program; we have to prepare ourselves properly against the best competition. Mt Hood will face Centralia CC (8th), Walla Walla CC (4th), Columbia Basin CC (2008 NWAACC Champions), Yakima Valley CC (7th) along with the teams in the powerhouse Southern Region; Lane (NWAACC Champions), Umpqua (3rd Place Finish), Clackamas (6th Place Finish). The nice thing about our strength of schedule is that itll properly prepare us to overcome any obstacle or challenge that comes our way.
