 #2 Kara Hiatt

Vale High School, OR

High School Career

Kara joins the Saints after a great high school career at Vale. At Vale, Kara was a 1st Team All State Tournament selection in ’06-’07 where she was a two time Qwest Player of the Game. A two time Vale Girls Defensive player of the year (’05-’07), Kara was also named team captain and MVP as senior. During the ’04-’05 season, she was also the Holiday Classic Free Throw Champion. As a member of the Vale basketball team, she captured a 4th place finish at the State Tournament as a junior, and a 5th place finish as a senior. During her senior season, Kara averaged 12 ppg, 3 steals, 2.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and shot 70% from the FT line.

Personal

The daughter of Craig & Karen Hiatt, Kara enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, shopping, and spoiling her niece & nephew, when not playing basketball. She enjoys jet skiing and watching her favorite TV Shows 24 and The Hills. Her favorite movie is The Ringer, which she enjoys while eating her favorite food, Chicken Alfredo. Kara intends to major in Business Administration.

Nyssa High School, OR

High School Career

Chelsey joins Mt. Hood after a very successful senior season at Nyssa High School. During the 2006-2007 season, Chelsey earned a selection to the 1st Team All State team as well as a 1st Team All State Tournament team. As team MVP for Nyssa during her senior year, she helped lead them to a 2007 3A Girl’s Basketball State Championship. During the season Chelsey averaged 11pts, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.

Personal

Daughter of Juan and Susan Ramos, Chelsey also excels at Track and Field where she participates in the throwing events for the Track team. She throws the shot put, javelin, and discus and was the 3A State Champion in the Shot Put in 2007. When not paying sports, Chelsey enjoys consistently checking her MySpace page all day, hanging out with friends, watching any Angelina Jolie movie, watching the TV Show Army Wives, eating any Mexican food, and just being crazy. Chelsey plans to major in Elementary Education.


#10 Jacki Cunningham

6’0’’ Guard/Forward
Scappoose High School, OR

High School Career

Playing for Scappoose High School, Jacki earned two years of 1st Team All League honors during her junior and senior years with the team. During those two season as an All League player, Jacki helped lead Scappoose to back to back 4th place trophies at the State Basketball Tournament in Corvallis. During her senior season, Jacki also received an All State Honorable mention selection while averaging 11pts, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game.

Personal

Daughter of Denise and Jerry Cunningham, and step daughter to Shelby Cunningham, Jacki is the loan fan of the TV show Lost on the team this season. Along with Lost, Jacki enjoys watching Friends and Will & Grace, as well as “chick flicks, comedy, and action movies…everything is good!” Jacki spends her free time going shopping, being in the sun, going to the beach/lake/river/pool/closest water source, and hanging out with friends and family. Jacki is undecided on her major.


 
#13 Tiffany Bennett
Freshman
5’4’’ Guard
Dillingham High School, AK

High School Career

As a senior at Dillingham, Tiffany was crowned Dillingham High Athlete of The Year for her success both on the basketball court and on the wrestling mat. As team captain, she earned honors as Regional 3pt Shoot Out Champion and received All Tournament Team Selections at the Valdez Elks Tournament, Sockeye Classic Tournament, and the Regional Tournament. As a junior, again Team Captain, Tiffany had a season high 37 points in one game, and collected All Tournament selections in the Sockeye Classic, ACS Pepsi Invite, and Regional tournaments. During her sophomore year, Tiffany’s team was the Regional Champions where she was named Player of the Game in the Regional Championship game as well as taking home the Skills Challenge trophy. At the state tournament, her team made an impressive run and took 2nd place. During her senior season, Tiffany averaged 19.5 ppg with a game high of 34 points. She also had a game high in steals of 12.

Personal

Outside of basketball, Tiffany enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including sledding, skating, 4x4ing, dirt biking, swimming, shooting, camping, making smores, or mudslidding. Daughter of Neal and Dinah Bennett, Tiffany is studying General Studies and prereqs for nursing. She would like to someday climb the Eiffel Tower, float in the Dead Sea, and drive on the Autobon. On a good day, you can catch Tiffany enjoying homemade mashed potatoes or her Dad’s cake while watching one of her favorite TV shows like Family Guy or America’s Next Top Model. Tiffany describes her favorite movie list as “It goes on and on and on…” but it is highlighted by the likes of Anchorman, Zoolander, The Notebook and Talladega Nights. 


#14 Alexandra Melonson

Rancho High School, NV

High School Career

Coming from Rancho High School in Nevada, Alexandra joins Mt. Hood coming of a great season where her team captured the Northeast Division Championship. Alexandra helped lead the way in all facets of the game averaging 15.8 points, 4.3 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game through the course of their 24-8 season record.

Personal

Daughter of Yul and Yvette Melonson, Alexandra, otherwise known as Alex to her team, is a self described phone talker who loves hanging out with her friends. She enjoys shopping whenever time allows and will always catch an episode of her favorite TV shows, Law and Order SVU and Charmed. Love and Basketball ranks as her favorite movie while hot wings top the list of her favorite foods. Alex plans to major in business management.


#22 Kathryn Beus

Centennial High School, ID

High School Career

A member of the Centennial High School Girl’s Basketball program, Kathryn was named team captain for the 2006-2007 season. Her team won the State Championship in 2006 and during her senior year, Kathryn averaged five points and five rebounds per game.

Personal

Born Kathryn to her parents Kelly and Vicki Fackrell, but known to her teammates simple as Kat, she claims her favorite food to be ice cream. Her favorite never-miss-it TV show is Desperate Housewives and she enjoys the Disney classic Beauty & the Beast along with The Notebook and My Best Friend’s Wedding when it comes to movies. When not working on her game or playing basketball, Kat enjoys hitting the gym and getting in a workout, being with her amazing family, hanging out with her friends, thinking about flamingos, or getting a pedicure. Kat plans to major in marketing or advertising.
