  1. Are there Pre-Requisites?
    No there are Pre-Program Requirements that are due by April 2nd

  2. Do I need to take the College Placement Test?
    Yes and you must place in Reading 117, and Writing 121

  3. When does the Program begin?
    Spring Term 2007 through Winter Term 2008

  4. If I have taken AH 12 do I need to take AH 110?
    No, just submit transcripts from colleges where you took your pre-program courses and other required general education courses for this program.

  5. If I have taken a higher level of Anatomy and Physiology series would I need to take BI 121 and 122?
    You would need to have completed BI 231, 232, and 233 with a letter grade of “C” or higher

  6. Do I need to take PSY 101 if I have completed PSY 201? Do I get points for taking other Psychology classes?
    No, PSY 201 will be fine, you must complete the course with a grade of “C” or higher
    Yes, you can get points for taking other higher level psychology courses. You must have completed those courses with a grade of “C” or higher.

  7. Do I have to have my CNA?
    Yes, and you must provide a copy of OSBN CNA certification

  8. For College Transcripts do I need to submit transcripts from every college attended and not just the prerequisites?
    Yes

  9. Can the non-CNA related work experience be volunteer-type of work?
    Yes

  10. Can I receive points for taking an equivalent or higher level math, psychology and writing course?
    Yes

  11. How do I apply to the Practical Nursing Program?
    Go to www.mhcc.edu, click on Programs of Study, scroll down and click on nursing, click on practical nurse admission packet. Please read the application thoroughly and follow directions to apply.

  12. Is admission based primarily on GPA?
    Admission to the Program is based on a point system; please refer to Page 14 of the Admission Packet

  13. What Hours and Days will I be in class (clinical sites) during the course of the Program?
    The Program is designed to be offered online, evenings, and weekends.

  14. Do I need to submit a High School and College Transcripts?
    Yes, you must show proof of High School Diploma or GED

  15. If I have taken the 200 series A&P do I get points for that instead of the required A&P 100 level?
    Yes, you can get points if you have taken the 200 series. You must have completed 231, 232, 233 with a grade of “C” or higher.
