Q.Can I go to the ceremony if my certificate or degree requirements are not going to be complete by the end of spring term, 2008?
A.Yes. Students completing their requirements at a later date may attend regardless of the amount of credits still needed. Students do not receive their certificate or degree on the night of the ceremony. They receive an empty cover and the actual certificate or degree will be sent later upon completion of all requirements.
Q.How do I get my name in the commencement program and what is the deadline?
A.You need to apply for graduation by filling out the application, paying the $15.00 fee and submitting it to the Admissions, Registration and Records Office by 5:00 p.m., May 16, 2008. Late applications will not be included in the 2008 commencement program.
Q.Can I attend the ceremony if my name is not in the program?
A.Yes. When students cross the stage to receive their degree cover, their names are announced from a card filled out on the night of the ceremony.
Q.What if I attend the ceremony and forget to fill out the application for graduation?
A.You must fill out an application in order to be evaluated for the certificate or degree and to then receive the certificate or degree, if you are eligible.
Q.What does my GPA have to be in order to qualify for honors?
A.Students graduating with school honors have an MHCC cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher as of winter term, 2008. The MHCC Bookstore sells school honors regalia.
