Programs for Minority and Non-Native English Speakers


ESL (English as a Second Language) and ENL (English as a Non-native Language) classes:
ESL classes are low-cost, non-credit, basic English classes. ENL classes are more advanced, provide college credits, and require tuition payment. To determine your English level, first take the College Placement test at the Testing Center . You will be instructed on further steps to enroll in appropriate classes. MHCC Latino students mentor high school students during monthly seminars designed to encourage youth to stay in school, graduate and attend college.

Student Clubs:
MHCC has many student clubs and supports new club formation. Current clubs include MEChA for Latino students, Asian Cultures Appreciation Club, and Chako Kumtux Club for Native American students. More information in room 1051.
