FlashAlert - Up to Date Campus Closures
This year, the internet-based system used for delivering changes/cancellations
for school closures to the local media has extended their service to the public.
This is being offered through a system called FlashAlert. Every staff member
and student has the ability to self-register and manage up to five home or office
email and/or cell phone text message addresses and receive emergency information
relating to MHCC just minutes after it is posted. This invaluable service is
available at no cost to you.
To register:
- Go to www.FlashAlert.net
- In the left frame, select “Subscribe to receive news from participating
organizations”.
- Enter your primary email address twice.
- On the next screen, under “Add an Organization”, choose the
Portland/Vanc/Salem region.
- Choose Public Colleges & Universities.
- Select Mt. Hood Community College.
- Click on “Subscribe”.
- Enter up to four more email/cell phone text addresses (optional).
- To finish, click “Update Email Addresses and Send Test Messages”.
*
*Please be aware that with the proliferation of spam and the resulting spam
filters, it is impossible to completely guarantee message delivery. After adding
or changing email/cell phone text addresses, the system will send a test message
to verify transmittal through your mail server’s filters.
All addresses registered on FlashAlert will remain confidential and shall not
be released to any person or organization. Once a year, you will receive an
email at your primary address asking if you wish to continue your subscription.
You are encouraged to take advantage of this service, as it will alert you,
almost immediately, to any potential closures or schedule changes.
