Learning Success Center Workshop (AC 3333) - Make Learning Easier: Discover and Use Your "Learning Style"
Description: Succeed in college by learning how to study effectively. One of the most important things to know is how you learn best. Do you learn best with visual material like charts, graphs, and diagrams? Or by hearing the spoken word? Maybe you learn best when you get your hands on the material-touching it, manipulating it, experimenting with it. Or maybe you're "at home" learning in most classrooms, which feature reading and writing. In this one-hour session, you'll take a 10-minute on-line inventory to help you identify the means through which you prefer to gather information. Then, we'll make that discovery useful for you. We'll give you techniques and resources to help you use your strength to advantage in the classroom. And we'll teach you how to take the material in any class, however its presented, and turn it into material that you can best understand and remember. Participants will receive a bag of learning tools and will enjoy some chocolate refreshments.
Space is limited to 32 participants.
