Student Head Start Rates:

35 hours per week, no cost to families.

Fees are subject to change any term. Student rate applies to parents taking at least 6 MHCC credits per term of enrollment. Registration fee is $75.00 per family per school year.

Resources to Assist With The Cost Of Care:

CCAMPIS Grant for Child Development Center Families:

Subsidies for eligible student parents up to and including 50% of the cost of care. Awards may be renewed depending on students priority and available funding.

To be eligible for the CCAMPIS grant, student-parents must:

  • Apply for financial aid and be determined PELL grant eligible. Proof of PELL eligibility must be attached to application.
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress prior to each term funded. Must be a verified student in good standing.
  • Make the mandatory 50% co-payment and keep CDC childcare account current.
  • Carry a minimum of 6 credit hours on the MHCC campus.

Student Head Start:

Free childcare offered at the Child Development Center and Kelly Place for children 3-5 years old.

To be eligible, student-parents must be Head Start income eligible and taking a minimum of 9 credit hours.

Degree Completion Initiative (DCI):

Helps parents complete the final year of instruction at a two or four-year school. Also provides other benefits such as help with childcare & transportation costs.

Transitions Program:

Helps students select career goals, develop strong college success skills and gather financial and personal resources to stay in school.

For interested new or current MHCC students who are:

  • Single parents
  • Displaced homemakers
  • Minority and/or immigrant women

Oregon Student Childcare Grant:

Assists parents enrolled in post-secondary education obtain safe, dependable care that supports their childrens development while allowing completion of the parents academic programs.

To receive financial aid from this program the applicant must:

  • Be an Oregon resident with a child or legal dependent age 12 and under in need of childcare or, if over age 12, who satisfies the requirements of special needs.
