Employment of Part-Time Employees
It is the hiring administrator/supervisors responsibility to work with human resources to recruit and hire part-time employees.
The practice of utilizing combined part-time instructional and non-instructional employees is discouraged but permissible on a temporary basis. Approval of combination of employment must be approved by the appropriate deans, the Vice President for Student Learning, and the Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Administrative Services.
Part-time Instructional Employees
Part-time instructional employees are defined in the part-time faculty and tutor association agreement in Article 1 Recognition.
Part-time Hourly Non-Instructional Employees
Part-time non-instructional employees are eligible to work up to a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year and are not members of the classified employees association.
