Guidance & Discipline

Our guidance policy follows the principles of Developmentally Appropriate Practices and it is intended to provide a decision-making framework for adults. We provide clear and consistent limits for childrens behavior as well as modeling desired conduct such as problem-solving, verbal conflict resolution and appropriate expression of emotions. Varying circumstances and the needs of individual children will always influence how we interact. While we set limits, we intend those limits to support children rather than make things convenient for adults. Guidance is designed to help each child develop the internal controls and problem-solving skills to manage better in the future.

Respect yourself. Respect others. Respect your environment.

More information about our guidance policies and the principles of Developmentally Appropriate Practices can be found in our Parent Handbook, available for review at our front desk.
